How to integrate ERD Commander 2005 with BCDW 2.01a
- You need Bart's Bootable Image Extractor, a hex editor and, of course ERD Commander 2005 by Winternals.
- If you do not have it already, create the bootable CD from ERD Commander program.
- Copy all files and folders to your bootcd folder, e.g D:\MyBootCD, renaming I386 folder to ERDC.
- The files bootsect.bin and winbom.ini are not needed.
- Extract Barts Bootable Image Extractor to a folder of your choice (not your bootcd folder).
- Extract the bootinformation from the ERD Commander CD from the commandline. From the directory where you put bbie, the command is bbie.exe f: , assuming F: is your CD-RROM drive. You will get a file called image1.bin. Rename this file to erdc.bin and put it in your bootcd folder root.
- Open erdc.bin in your hex editor, search for I386 and replace it with ERDC. Do the same with setupldr.bin in your ERDC directory.
- Add an entry for ERD Commander 2005 in your bcdw.ini: \erdc.bin ; ERD Commander 2005
- This worked for me, thanks to all the people in the forum who contributed, especially mediapla!
